I am unable to get passed the first puzzle :( Bug , or my wrong ? ( Spoilers , btw. )

The first time I tried, I was unable to use the tweezers on the squirrel head. No matter from what angle, or how many times I tried.
I started the game new, and this time I was unable to pour water to grow the tulip. And yes, I had filled the glass with water .
Yes, I pushed "Hint" ( even if I normally do not like to ) , and the hint simply showed me ( on both occasions) to do what I already tried to .

The game looks great, I hope this gets fixed - Or do I have to do this puzzle in a certain order ?

I have the same problem with a different puzzle..I know I'm doing it correct but the game is not showing I already did it (rebuild the bird nest, which I did with twigs from the basket)! So now I'm stuck and can't go any farther..and the hint won't help cuz it's telling me to do what I've already did! Not sure if I have to restart the whole game over due to this bug or what, sigh*

I think I figured it out - you have to wait for the interact-icon to show up, before you push the button. Helped me.
