I just tried this out streaming from my desktop on Ubuntu 24.10 to a raspberry pi 5. It starts up fine but won't stream anything. If I try to start streaming it fails out after a few seconds.

If you launch it from the terminal, what's the output there?

If I run the command "steamlink" this is what it gives me:
This plugin does not support createPlatformOpenGLContext!
Enable to initialize audio subsystem
Mix_OpenAudioDevice() failed: Failed loading libpipewire-0.3.so.0: libpipewire-0.3.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't find sound data in ":/resources/sounds/click.wav"
Connected to Remote Client service with session 7906257163796203412

If it would help I have a pic of the output on my tv from the terminal when i am trying to connect but I can't link attachments here.

Would it be possible to add higher frame rate modes? 120FPS at 1080 and 1440 would be amazing! Also, I have a suggestion for an amazing Steam feature for Raspberry Pis (admittedly not Steam Link but tangentially related)... Using a Raspberry Pi for downloading and storing games and then using "network Game Transfer" to transfer the games to Steam Decks, laptops, and Desktops. Essentially allowing users to use a Raspberry Pi like a personal Steam storage server to download games when they are at work/sleeping and then transfer those games to their Steam Decks when they get home.

I have tried it today for a short amount of time with two games and have to say that even if it's a beta version it works really well for me, good job slouken! :winter2019coolyul:

Raspi OS 64bit Bookworm

I installed app from link. UI launched succesfully. Paired to my PC OK. But when I want to launch remote play, program just shuts down. And I don't know where to find 'beta' setting on my Pi5 - I don't have any 'advanced' settings inside UI.

Added controller with mapping 05008fe54c050000c405000000006800,*,a:b0,b:b1,back:b4,dpdown:h0.4,dpleft:h0.8,dpright:h0.2,dpup:h0.1,guide:b5,leftshoulder:b9,leftstick:b7,lefttrigger:a4,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,rightshoulder:b10,rightstick:b8,righttrigger:a5,rightx:a2,righty:a3,start:b6,x:b2,y:b3,touchpad:b11,crc:e58f,platform:Linux,

I've never seen higher refresh rates as an option in the UI, but there's nothing in Steam Link itself that limits framerate to 60 FPS. Are you able to set higher refresh rates somehow? Have you tried it?

Did you update your image before trying?

sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade reboot

Also, are you using Wayfire or labwc as the compositor?

sudo raspi-config

Yes. On Raspberry Pi OS desktop if you set a lower resolution than 4K, like 1080, you can set your frame rate higher than 60. It makes using the Pi's desktop much smoother. It really changes the desktop experience. Of course, assuming your monitor/tv supports frame rates higher than 60.

Great. I don't have a > 60 FPS display handy, have you tried it? How does it work with the Steam Link app?
