Does Steam Link support AMD GPUs for your PC?
We are currently working on adding AMD GPU support, but they are not yet recommended for Steam Link VR.

We are aware of some driver limitations which may cause issues like: Narrow foveated regions and blurrier than acceptable images. We are working with AMD to improve the experience.

If you would like to experiment using AMD GPUs, see the following list.

Experimental AMD GPUs:
• RX570 or newer

Not Supported AMD GPUs:
• RX 6400
• RX 6400 GT
• RX 6500 XT
• And most cards older than RX570
• Any Vega series older than Vega 9

For more Steam Link information please see our Support Page

Can we get a full list of unsupported GPUs? Currently running an Intel Arc A750 LE and it tells me there's a driver error.

Suddenly the encoding performance feels really worse to me. Lots of bitrate drops and audio stutters. I have a AMD RX 6750XT. I think that it might have something to do with 24.1.1 driver. I'm currently on 24.2.1 driver. Does anyone also is having that problem? Everything is set on auto and I tried setting the Disable QoS option which helped a bit but it is nowhere as good as it was in january Steam Link version. Airlink works really well but I really prefer Steam Link image quality.

EDIT: Rolled back to 23.12.1 using DDU. Things still don't feel great, but they feel better, Contractors is quite playable. Disable QOS didn't seem to make a difference. Songs still stutter a lot and image quality isn't that great/consistent anymore. I think it might have something to do to the H265 10-bit implementation, which Airlink doesn't use. Apparently, Virtual Desktop also has some issues with 24.X.X AMD drivers. AMD and Valve, please fix. 22.11.2 might provide better results but I'm not in the mood for testing it.

Does AMD Ryzen 3 3250U Work?

RX 6950 XT here, and there are some frame pacing issues with the encoder. The game's frame rate is smooth and steady in my test game (Beat Saber) on the PC - Locked 120 FPS.

The encoded video is choppy randomly that isn't seen on the desktop as it's running. It's either a problem with the Radeon's encoder or the Quest 2 despite being WIFI connected at 1200 Mb/Sec WIFI-6 simply not handling the video bitrate well enough?

Should also note, the desktop PC is Ethernet connected at 2500 MB/Sec to give it the best possible chance.

7900XT (24.2.1) with Meta Quest 3(v64) here. Blocks in Beat Saber appear to alter position for a brief frame. I'd say its random and happens about every 20 seconds to a minute. (I also experience the occasional choppiness as well but its far less frequent.)

Any progress updates if/when AMD cards will be moving out of experimental stage?

Works mostly well, only game I have some issues with so far is BeatSaber where I have some stuttering when I move my head. Have some other issues too but I think they might be network related, since I am using Wi-Fi 5. Haven't had time to test many games so far since I just got the Quest a week ago or so.
There are a couple of older titles that don't have any audio also. For example; Doctor Who: The Runaway.

Got a 7800XT and a Quest 3 with v66. Was similar with v65.

edit: upgraded to wifi 6, still have the same stuttering in Beat Saber - so guessing it is more related to AMD GPU than network.

edit: 2024-08-06, v67 on the Quest 3 now and there was an update to the SteamLink app as well. Seem to work a lot better now, don't have the weird stuttering when moving the head around in the games I had this issue in. Though, in BeatSaber and other similar games, there seem to be some weird issue with controller tracking. It works well most of the time, but once in a while it feels like the tracking just stops working. In BeatSaber for example the saber just passes through notes without registering as a hit. This goes on for a few seconds until it goes away and works OK again. Same issue in BoxVR. (Had this issue with wired Oculus CV1 as well before upgrading to Q3, I assumed it was due to the CV1 and some USB issues - but maybe it is more related to AMD? I have not had a nvidia gpu since the GTX 1070 and I don't remember having this issue then). Almost feels like there is a buffer that gets filled up and then won't work again until it's emptied. Really happy with the latest updates all around, good work and I hope AMD support will improve :)

edit: 2024-11-17: well the stutters when moving the head are back, and now there's also "freeze lag". Not sure what is causing that, since my VR headset is the only device using this wifi other than my phone. Didn't mention before what I upgraded my router to, its a unifi express gateway, which supports wifi 6 2x2. I don't know if my issues with BeatSaber is also due to the stuttering, but it often feels like it stops registering my hits quite often. Like my saber just passes through the note and I get a "missed" popup. I have tried tinkering with the latency in the game but doesn't seem to change much in terms of that. I had issues before with my CV1, so maybe an update with the game itself. Alyx works decently, just the stuttering that makes it quite uncomfortable to play...

download link to what? You download Steam Link from the "app store" on your Quest and SteamVR in Steam store.
