I really want to like this game, but I honestly can't. What happened man? FF7 Remake did amazing with pacing and a linear structure. This one I quit due to it being the exact opposite (uninspired open world, annoying & weird open world quest/ unlocking mechanics, boring side missions, therefore heavy pacing problems etc etc).
Really sad honestly, but this just felt like a waste of time, nothing really memorable in the first 30 hours.

I want to like this game but I can't. This game kept all the worst parts of a turn based combat system: needing to babysit your entire party, needing to switch between them to manage resources such as your mana and action points (or else you're suddenly 20 hp with no action points to cast a heal or even use an item) having to shuffle around your party constantly for optimizations or for learning new weapon skills. This game would have worked so much better as the turn based game it wants to be rather than the real time action game it pretends to me. FF15 had a better combat system than Rebirth in my opinion.

In my opinion the mini-games and side content are tedious at best and downright annoying gate-keeping at worst, I haven't found a mini-game I've liked yet, even the card game. But that's personal preference

TLDR: If fell in love with FF7 back in the day you'll love this game because it hits all the familiarity and nostalgia points but if you're looking for a modern spin on an old and beloved franchise as a new player: play final fantasy 15 or final fantasy 16
