I haven't tried the DLC yet so I can't comment on it.
Differents games, differents studios, differents strenghts and weakness.
+150 hours here for my first run CP77 and +110 for the RDR one. The quests, DLC, story of contracts, the dialogues, the musics, the graphics and animations, the differents builds and ways to play the game, you can be good, you can be bad, you can be both just like RDR, this is what make this game and The Witcher 3 top tiers RPG. And the feeling of shooting is way better than RDR 2 on 3rd person imo the best one for that is Fallout. But yeah the world in Cyberpunk is full of details, buildings, cars and people lack of randoms encounters but this is not their things, but for that I agree RDR 2 is god tier. Anyway they are both great games and I love them
Sorry to say, but the vanilla game simply isn't filled very well. CDPR are more of a story first kind of Studio, so they're not going to be focused on improving the sandbox aspect of the world much. This was essentially my gripe with the game for years, but over the years, mods have greatly helped with this aspect of the game, for me.
Ah ♥♥♥♥, here we go again. Your opinion about combat/shooting is subjective. For me combat in this game as exciting as, for example, in Ultrakill.
Hmmm...
They never actually promised "daily routines". They said that the NPCs would be "living their lives within a full day and night cycle", and they actually do.
For example, some dance parties only happen at night, but are cleared out during the day. Same with bars. Not much happening during the day like in 7th Hell, but they become more congested at night. It is even more prevalent in Dogtown.
Less NPCs walking late night, but bustling during morning and day time hours as if going to work, etc. That's the very definition of day and night cycles, friend.
Please tell me you weren't expecting to follow one home and watch them cook dinner, then brush their teeth before bed time. xD
The gunplay in this game is actually quite solid, so I must disagree with you there.
Not sure how you play the game, but for me, it's anything but clunky.
I'm pretty fast and aggressive, relying a lot on movement reflex abilities.
It can feel clunky at first when you have practically no cyberware or reflex perks installed, or if you're more the type to stand still to shoot or hide behind cover a lot (or if your aiming is not sharp).
High reflex points and certain leg cyberware, can provide excellent movement and compliment the shooting mechanic quite beautifully. So I dunno man.
It's of course your opinion and I respect it as just that.
People (me included) glaze the game because we genuinely have lot of fun with it. The way we play it. How much we sink our teeth into the lore and the many stories of Night City. The characters we end up caring for, really brings enough to the table to keep us deeply connected and entertained.
It's not senseless to love something, just because someone else doesn't. :)
I now have 1950 hours burned in with 4 playthroughs in my belt so far and I wouldn't play as much if I found it to be as soulless as you make it out to be.
Btw, you can't shoot in all clubs, but there's a few in Night City where you actually can and probably will, considering the tasks handed to you. The fact that this went over your head even after 80 hours, makes me question the validity of your complaints.
You may have slept through some of these details since you were so bored. :D
So for you, the game is overrated. But for a lot of here, it isn't. We're just different kinds of people who find enjoyment in different ways. Sorry you didn't enjoy it and hope getting that off your chest made you feel better.
And they delivered on that promise. You just simply don’t know how to decipher marketing speak.
NPC routines means exactly that: Routines. A civilian walking or driving to a certain location is considered an NPC routine. A child NPC playing in public is an NPC routine. An NPC buying snacks from a vending machine is an NPC routine. Hell, even standing around and loitering is an NPC routine. The reason you don’t actively recognize these routines is because you underestimate just how boring and mundane everyday life is.
“Unique daily NPC routines” is just marketing speak for “NPC will do things at certain times of day” in reality. You can literally market a bottle of water as “A refreshing, thirst quenching elixir of life that all living creatures depend upon for survival.” If you cut through all the BS marketing speak, you can very easily recognize it for what it is: Just plain old water contained in a plastic bottle.
