What happened?
So, I haven't been playing since August 2023 because I got lost in some other games and simply forgot about this game. Today I thought, hey I am almost done with the main story. Let's finish and buy the DLC!

When I logged into my game I saw a lot of updates happening... My perks got reset, which I first thought was no problem. Just allocated them again. But the build trees look completely different, and I have no idea how to get my guild back again..:steamsad:

Even worse, my cyberdeck isn't the same legendary cyberdeck I used to have but got replaced by some other with a lower tier somehow, and now I CAN'T equip any of my legendary quickhacks anymore. My character isn't playable anymore until I get a new legendary cyberdeck that perfectly fits my build, that's IF my build is even doable with the new skill trees...

It seems I lost a few things I formerly had. I feel my build and my savefile got destroyed and useless now.. so many hours acquiring my build and gear for nothing.. :-(

Update 2.0 happened (which coincidentally released 1 month after you stopped playing the game). It overhauled quite literally every major game system, hence why everything is different.

You still have the option to play v1.63 legacy version through the Steam betas tab. The only drawback is that you can't play the expansion if you're on 1.63 since it's intrinsically tied to update 2.0.
LOL

for me i was in mid of the game (50-60%) and the big update happened and i saw the dev advice to reset the game from the beginning and i say hell nah XD and yes is the better to reset the game.
U got hacked... Ur visualising cyberware is brocken. Please see a ripperdoc
Sad choom noises.. Probably best if I completely start the game new, after almost 100h.... But I will wait for a while probably.. I'm not really motivated anymore which makes me sad.. I was hyped for the DLC..
Sorry to hear. Was the legendaries something you paid for?
...updates happened:steambored:
Choom...start a new game. Cyberpunk 2077 has changed so much after 2.0 it's practically a different game. Enjoy it all over again.

Just in-game money.

I probably will. Just sad since I put so much time in my build and gear.. but you are right. After some time I will start from the start and maybe try a different build than Netrunner.

You can still do netrunner. The update pretty much made it even more OP than before. There are some mods out there that cranks that up even more. (which honestly makes the game too easy in my opinion so I don't use it.)

but I feel your pain. I stopped playing at the same time after getting the suicide ending without realizing that's the path I chose. Made it a lot easier for me to start over though.

I can't speak for the skill tree changes because some people share varying opinions on it, but as far as the game itself, I think you're really going to enjoy the updates made over the years, because it brought in so much more stuff to the game (also more stability). :)
Just restart the game dude, the game is awsome
Best to just delete all the pre-2.0 saves and start new playthrough. Old saves are pretty much guaranteed to get messed up.
